We are pleased to announce that the new chairman of the board at IMPACT Melanoma is Scott Bauhofer. Scott’s acceptance of this position further bolsters our organizational strength and ability to foster strong national growth.

Scott brings with him a deep general management business background, coupled with an inherent devoted passion to the IMPACT Melanoma operative mission committed to Prevention and Early Detection of skin cancer. His passion for the cause began 4 years ago when he and his wife Tracy Cockerham (also an IMPACT board of directors member) lost their son Connor to Melanoma at age 20. They have both seen and suffered the devastation from this awful disease, and in memory of Connor, have vowed to carry on the battle against the incidences of skin cancers nationwide.

With that in mind, Scott and Tracy founded The Melanoma Coalition, a Santa Cruz, Ca. based non-profit in 2014, focused on the eradication of Melanoma. The Melanoma Coalition raised significant funds that enabled one of the nations leading Melanoma research labs to carry on cutting edge research.

On January 1, 2018, IMPACT Melanoma and The Melanoma Coalition combined forces under the IMPACT banner.

On top of his of melanoma inspired initiatives, Scott has 20+ years of Senior Executive level experience working in Fortune 500 companies including Best Buy, Advance Auto Parts, Gateway Computers and Symantec, leading Digital business units with full P&L responsibility. His expertise in leading businesses from inception – Bestbuy.com and Advance Auto Parts eBusiness, through rapid growth (transactions of $1b) is particularly relevant as IMPACT Melanoma moves from a significant and highly respected regional non-profit – Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE), to the national entity it serves as today.

“I’m humbled and honored to accept the role of Chairman of the Board of IMPACT,” Scott said. “I certainly have big shoes to fill, as Amy Walls has led this organization as Chairperson through the past 10 years to the position we are in today, as a leader in the battle to prevent melanoma incidences in the north east and throughout the country. The opportunity to take IMPACT’s innovative and life saving programs to a national level is momentous and I’ll rest at nothing to help bolster this forward progress.”

Join us in welcoming Scott to our valued team! Together we will make great IMPACT in the fight against skin cancers around the United States and worldwide!
